BRATISLAVA (AFX) - Slovakia's state budget deficit widened by 651 mln koruna to 5.716 bln koruna in the first eight months of 2006, reported SITA news wire citing Zuzana Brutenicova of the Finance Ministry's press department.
Budget revenues, projected at 272.717 bln koruna for the whole year, amounted to 188.882 bln koruna for January to August, or 69.3 pct of the projected total and 18.356 bln koruna higher than a year ago.
Tax revenues, representing the core of budget revenues, accounted for 151.698 bln koruna for the same period, 70.3 pct of the annual target of 215.657 bln koruna.
Expenditure for the period stood at 194.598 bln koruna, up 19.007 bln koruna year-on-year and at 58.9 pct of the annual projection of 330.185 bln koruna.
