HALLE, Germany (AFX) - The Institut fuer Wirtschaftsforschung Halle (IWH), one of Germany's six leading economic think tanks, said it expects quarter-on-quarter GDP growth in eastern Germany to slow to 0.5 pct in the third quarter, down from a 0.7 pct growth rate in the second quarter.
Construction activity in eastern Germany is seen increasing only slightly in the third quarter, the institute said.
The construction sector made the biggest contribution to eastern German growth in the second quarter, it added.
